Design this pairFits his waist, stops above his ankles
Boys' sizes tie leg length to waist size, and a tall, lean boy outgrows the length first.
His inseam is cut to his measurement, separately from the waist.
Long enough, but falls down
Sizing up for length brings a bigger waist with it, and inner elastic can only cinch so far.
Cut to his real waist, with an adjustable button-elastic band for growing room.
Fine in the shop, short by spring
Length is usually the first thing to run out.
Add the 1.5-inch grow-room hem (+$8) and let it down when he shoots up.
Holes in both knees by October
Kneeling, sliding and playground football.
Add reinforced knees (+$10).
Too long on a shorter, sturdier boy
Husky sizes add width but keep the regular leg length.
Our husky jeans with the right length cut both to him.

This is the most common reason parents of boys end up here: an inseam that belongs to the next size up, or two, and a waist that belongs to this one. Off the rack you choose which half fits. Here you don't have to, because waist and inseam are separate numbers on the order form and we cut to both.
For a tall, lean build, slim fit for slender boys keeps the leg neat without a belt. If he's tall but wants room to move, Regular is the easy middle. Mid growth spurt? Add the grow-room hem instead of guessing a longer inseam and watching him trip over it.
| Waistband | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Adjustable button-elastic | Inner elastic that buttons tighter or looser. | Most boys: growing room in the waist, no belt needed. |
| Standard | A regular jeans waistband cut to his measurement. | Older boys who want jeans like the grown-ups'; no adjustment. |
| Full elastic pull-on | Elastic all the way round and no fly to manage. | Boys who find buttons or zips hard: see pull-on adaptive jeans. |
Closure is a separate choice: zip & button, a magnetic fly (+$12) or no fly. Magnetic closures aren't suitable for anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted medical device.

Tap a number. A soft tape and five minutes is all it takes. Full method in the measuring guide.

Measure the waist where their jeans sit, the hips, and the inseam from crotch to ankle bone. Or measure their best-fitting pair laid flat.
Within 1 working day a pattern maker compares every measurement with the others, and emails you before cutting if anything looks unusual.

Regular suits most builds, Slim a slender one, Husky a boy whose store jeans pinch at the seat and thigh, and Pull-On a boy who'd rather skip buttons. Any style is open to any child.
