Pull-on waist or magnetic fly?

A full elastic pull-on with no fly is the simplest: nothing to line up, nothing to fasten, and it goes on the same way every time. Measure the hips at the widest point, since that's what the waistband has to pass over; our guide to measuring hips for pull-on jeans shows where.

A magnetic fly keeps the look of a front fly for kids who want their jeans to match their friends', and closes without fine finger work. Magnetic closures aren't suitable for anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted medical device. If you're unsure, ask your child's doctor before choosing it.

Adaptive Jeans for Kids: Kids' Pull-On Adaptive Jeans jeans worn on a model

Looks like everyday jeans

The adaptive parts sit on the inside: a label instead of a tag, flatter seams, elastic in the waistband, and no drawstring. From the outside it's a pair of jeans in dark, mid or light wash, black or grey, cut to fit the way all our kids' jeans are. Need a roomier cut as well? The husky jeans for kids take the same pull-on waistband.

We check your numbers before we cut

Measure the waist where their jeans sit, the hips, and the inseam from crotch to ankle bone. Or measure their best-fitting pair laid flat.

Within 1 working day a pattern maker compares every measurement with the others, and emails you before cutting if anything looks unusual.

Questions and answers

What makes these jeans adaptive?

Features you choose by need: a full elastic pull-on waist with no fly, an optional magnetic fly, no tag and flat seams, all on jeans cut to your child's measurements. Magnetic closures aren't suitable for anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted medical device.

Are these jeans good for kids with sensory sensitivities?

They're built for kids who notice tags, stiff waistbands and seams: no tag, flat seams, Soft Stretch denim, and a pull-on waist with nothing to press into the tummy.

Will they fit over AFOs or leg braces?

We can't promise that yet. Put the brace measurements in the notes for your tailor before you order, and we'll tell you whether the leg can be adjusted.

Do you make seated-fit jeans for wheelchair users?

Not at the moment. Our kids' jeans aren't cut with a seated rise, and we'd rather be clear than have you find out after delivery.

Do the adaptive features cost extra?

Pull-on waist and tagless flat seams add nothing to the $79; the magnetic fly is $12. Magnetic closures aren't suitable for anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted medical device.
