Jeans for Shorter Men, Cut to Length, Never Hemmed

Jeans for shorter men should be cut short, not cut off. We cut the leg to your inseam from the start, so the opening and the taper are set for your length instead of chopped from a stock size. Any waist from 24" to 70", in Slim or Skinny, from $109 at every size.

Why hemmed jeans never look right on shorter legs

A tapered leg gets narrower all the way down. Take three inches off the bottom and you remove the narrowest part: the new hem is wider, the taper looks lost, and the knee sits lower on your leg than it was drawn.

A tailor can re-taper the leg, but that's a second job and a second bill on top of the hemming. Here the leg is cut to your length in the first place, so there's nothing to take off.

Rise: short legs don't need a short rise

Your rise depends on your torso, not your inseam, and plenty of shorter men have an average or long torso. What looks wrong is spare fabric bunched under the crotch, which comes from a rise that's too long for you, not one that's simply "normal". Choose low, mid or high, and add your front and back rise if you have them (both optional).

Measure your inseam for the shoes you wear

      1. Wear the shoes you'll wear most with these jeans.
      2. Measure from the crotch seam to where you want the hem; for no break, that's the top of the shoe.
      3. Boots and high-tops usually want slightly less length than low sneakers.
      4. Planning to cuff? Add the turn-up to your inseam.
      5. Copying a pair that's been hemmed? Measure it as it is now, and give us its leg opening too.
      6. Unsure? Write "no break with sneakers" in the notes for your tailor; we check before cutting.

We check your numbers before we cut

Copy your best-fitting jeans laid flat (easiest) or measure yourself with a soft tape. Height and weight are optional, as a cross-check.

Within 1 working day a pattern maker compares every measurement with the others and with your height and weight, and emails you before cutting if anything looks unusual.

      Questions and answers

What's the shortest inseam you make?

We cut to the inseam you give us and check it against your height before cutting. If you need something unusually short, put it in the notes for your tailor and we'll confirm by email.

Why not just hem regular jeans?

Hemming removes the narrowest part of the leg, so the opening widens and the taper disappears. Cutting to length from the start keeps both.

Should shorter men wear slim or straight jeans?

Slim or skinny usually gives a longer-looking line, while a wide straight leg can make legs look shorter. That's a style view; the right length matters more than the cut.

Do you only make short inseams in small waists?

No. Any waist from 24" to 70" can have a short inseam, at the same price as every other size.

How do I measure my inseam if all my jeans are too long?

Measure your body with shoes on, using our measuring guides, and add your height and weight. We compare everything before cutting.
