Begin by wearing a pair of shorts that fit you well and are comfortable. Make sure they sit at your natural waist and are the length you like. This will help you measure the inseam accurately.
Waist:
To measure the waist of your shorts, lay them flat and buttoned. Pull the front waistband up to align with the back. Then, measure from end to end and double the number.
Hips:
To measure shorts hips, button up the shorts and lay them flat. Smooth out any wrinkles and position a tape measure horizontally across the widest part of the hips. Measure from one side to the other, then double the measurement for the hip size.
Thigh:
To measure shorts thigh, lay them flat and locate the crotch seam. Measure straight across the leg, 1 inch down from the crotch, ensuring the tape measure is parallel to the seam.
Front Rise:
To measure shorts front rise, start at the end of the crotch seam and measure straight up to the middle of the front waistband. This gives you the length from the crotch to the top of the waistband.
Back Rise:
To measure shorts back rise, find the center of the back waistband and measure straight down to the crotch seam. This gives the back rise measurement, ensuring a comfortable fit.
Length:
Button up the shorts and lay them flat on a table or floor with the side seams at the edges. Smooth out any wrinkles or bulges. Then, measure the length from the top of the waistband.
